Donald Yanusko

Mr. Yanusko is co-founder and President / CEO for Penn Biomedical Support, Inc., a Clinical Engineering firm that provides facilities management and medical device services along with communications cabling to health care systems throughout the U.S. He consults regularly with executives from a variety of fields to help create synergistic solutions from medical device applications to communication infrastructure problems. Mr. Yanusko has helped Penn Biomedical Support expand by acquisitio

n of privately held communications and clinical engineering companies. Prior to his current position, he excelled in the Clinical Engineering field as an ICC Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician at regional hospitals & Independent Service Organizations by attending more than 75 manufacturer sponsored service seminars.

Raised in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Mr. Yanusko’s expertise as an industrial and commercial electrician at a local hospital led to a formal education into the electronics and medical fields at Lincoln Technical Institute.

He has served as president, treasurer and secretary of Mid-Eastern Pennsylvania Clinical Instrumentation Society (MEPCIS), president of local sportsmen’s associations and his homeowner’s association.

Spending his down-time with his wife & son at their self-built log home in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, he enjoys all the outdoor sports afforded by the Pocono region.

 

Steven Kerns

Steven Kerns co-founded Penn Biomedical Support (PBS) Inc. in 1993. Driven by a keen interest in electronics since childhood, Mr. Kerns received his degree in Electronic Technology from Southern Arkansas University in 1983. He worked at Beechcraft Aircraft where he received specialized training in aircraft avionics systems. While working for Independent Testing Labs (ITL) of Searcy Arkansas, he earned the ANSI certification in Ultrasonic/MagneticParticle/Acoustic Emission testing.

After moving to Pennsylvania, Mr. Kerns worked for Motorola Communications and the Reading Hospital & Medical Center. While working at the Reading Medical Center, Mr. Kerns established Communication Technologies, a niche company that provided support for users of RF and video communication systems.

Since 1995, Mr. Kerns has served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of PBS. He developed PBS’s ISO-based Quality Assurance Program and Personnel Policy Manuals.

Mr. Kerns attends many technical and management seminars. He is licensed by the FCC to maintain commercial radio transmitting facilities and is an ICC/USCC Certified Biomedical Technician. He has also served on the board of The Mid-Eastern Pennsylvania Clinical Instrumentation Society (MEPCIS), and is a member in good standing of the Philadelphia Area Medical Instrumentation Association.

Mr. Kerns and his wife have made their home in Pennsylvania since 1986. He is active in the business community and is a member of the Berks County Chamber of Commerce and the Berks County Businessman’s Club.

 

Mike Collins

Mr. Collins, the Director of Technical Services was born and raised in Reading, PA. Upon graduating from Kutztown Area High School, Mike joined the US Army and served 3 years of Military duty in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. After returning home from military duty, Mike worked at East Penn Manufacturing in the Lab for 3 years and then left to attend College, receiving an AAS in Biomedical Technology from Lehigh County Community College.

Mr. Collins worked in New England and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre areas as a Biomedical Field Service Engineer prior to joining Penn Biomedical Support in August of 1999. Starting as a Service Coordinator and Anesthesia Specialist, Mr. Collins helped develop the Technology Services Department into a thriving entity that can service a wide variety of medical equipment, from a basic Aneroid Sphygmomanometer to Radiology Equipment and everything in between. He and his wife Kellie and their two sons Justin and Aaron reside in the Kutztown area. He will celebrate 10 years of service with Penn Biomedical Support in August 2009.

 

Lisa Weller

Mrs. Weller manages the Accounting Division at Penn Biomedical Support, Inc. Since her employ in February 2006, she has been responsible for the company’s payables, receivables, general accounting, payroll and inventory. In addition, her responsibilities include forecasting, budget preparation, cash management, reconciliation and financial analysis as well as supervision of the office staff. Mrs. Weller also supervises personnel management functions: orientations, terminations, and reviews, and benefits. A member of the PBS management team, Mrs. Weller works in collaboration with the other key executives.

Mrs. Weller graduated from PBI in 1991 where she majored in Business Administration and Accounting/Management.

In 1992, Mrs. Weller began her career at a manufacturing company. Within a year she earned a promotion to the Accounting Department and, in 1994, was promoted to General Accounting Manager. During her 13-year employment, Mrs. Weller gained valuable accounting and management experience. She also worked as a General Accounting Specialist with a national technical school before joining PBS. She continues to keep up with the latest in her profession by attending seminars and workshops.

Mrs. Weller has always lived in Pennsylvania and enjoys volunteering in her community. She gets the greatest happiness from spending time with her husband and two children along with other family and friends.

 

Jason Yenser

Mr. Yenser, Installation Manager, has been working with leading manufacturers during his service with Penn Biomedical. A lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley, he attended a local Community College and attained an Associates in Biomedical Technology. Upon graduation he secured a position at a local hospital where he completed two years as a Biomedical Technician. In 1997 he made a decision to explore the field service industry by accepting a position as a field service technician with Penn Biomedical Support. Jason has attended numerous manufacturer schools and seminars, along with advancing his career as an ICC Certified Biomedical Technician.

Mr. Yenser enjoys many hobbies, some of which include collecting and restoring antique cars, home winemaking and gardening. He also serves on his church council and is acting Deacon. These days the majority of his time is spent with his wife and their five children.

 

Rick Charles

Mr. Charles manages the Communications Division at Penn Biomedical Support. Rick is a “working manager," as he will see your job through from start to finish, as he sets schedules and also assists in the completion of the jobs in the field. Rick manages the Communications employees in the PA and MD area.

Rick grew up in the Schenksville, PA area and had worked in the Communications field for 12 years before joining Penn Biomedical in July of 2006.

Mr. Charles now resides in the Harleysville area of PA with his wife and new daughter. He is a fan of Philadelphia sports teams and his main hobby is fishing.

Zacary Mountz

Mr. Mountz, Imaging Specialist is from Fleetwood, PA. After graduating from Brandywine Heights High School, Zac enlisted in the US Navy where he served 14 years active duty and is currently in the active Reserves. After bootcamp he went directly to Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes, then on to his first duty station, Naval Hospital Charleton, SC, where he worked in the Plant Property and Medical Repair Divisions. It was here that he was introduced to Biomedical Engineering. He was then sent to San Diego, 1st Marine Division for duty as a Field Medical Technician. During this time he was deployed to Kuwait. Upon coming back from deployment he went to the Department of Defense Biomedical Equipment Technician School at Sheppard Air Force Base, TX. After school he was sent to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA for duty as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET). During this time he was deployed again in 2005-2006 to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During deployment he was one of three Navy BMETs in the Al Anbar provice who were responsible for travelling to the multiple field hospitals in the country to provide biomedical support services during combat operations.

Mr. Mountz got out of the Navy in 2007 and joined the Penn Biomedical Support team as a Field Service Engineer. He earned ICC/USCC Certified Biomedical Technician and has extensive training in all biomedical modalities. Zac has two daughters, Alison and Avarey, who reside in Fleetwood, PA.
